How a result is calculated

For a long position, the result is the exit minus the entry, times the quantity, times the multiplier, minus the fees you enter. A short position reverses the price difference. A conversion is used only when you type one. A missing planned risk stays missing. Break-even trades stay in the win-rate count. Results in different currencies are not added together. The running line starts at zero and adds closed results in date order. Its largest drop is from an earlier peak of that line, not from an account balance.

A worked pair, which is not written into your journal: 10 shares bought at 100 and sold at 105, with fees of 5 and planned risk of 25, has a net result of 45 and an R of 1.8. The same size sold at 97 has a net result of -35. Together the net result is 10, the win rate is 50 percent, and the largest drop from the running peak is 35.

These figures describe the trades you stored. They do not predict the next trade.
