Corrections & Editorial Accountability
How WiT Markets assesses reported inaccuracies, maintains the integrity of published information and communicates material corrections.
Reliable financial information must be open to scrutiny.
We welcome substantiated feedback on factual accuracy, source interpretation, financial calculations and changes affecting published research. The corrections approach distinguishes factual errors from editorial updates, explains material changes and keeps that record visible to readers.
Last reviewed 13 October 2026. The wording was rewritten after that pass, so this page is flagged for a fresh editorial review. The stored date has not been moved. The byline is the WiT Markets editorial desk. Teresa Mary is Chief Content Editor and is not recorded as the reviewer of this page.
Our approach to corrections
WiT Markets is committed to clear and accurate financial information. Where a material error is established, the affected page is corrected and the change is made identifiable.
Accuracy
A published factual claim should rest on evidence that can be named.
Transparency
A material correction should be identifiable on the page it changes, and listed in the public register when it is published.
Fair assessment
A report is read on the strength of the evidence, including the document the reader cites. The identity of the sender is not the test.
Accountability
Where a significant error is established, the page should show what changed. The register entry says why.
How a correction is handled
Report, assess, verify, decide, correct, document. These stages are the approach. They are not a checklist recorded against every page already published.
Report received
A reader, a provider or the desk identifies a possible error and names the page.
Initial assessment
The note is read to see whether it concerns a fact, a source, a calculation, an interpretation or a technical fault.
Evidence review
The page is checked against the source the report cites, and against a primary document where the claim needs one.
Editorial decision
The evidence decides whether the page needs a correction, a clarification, an update, or no change. A message is not accepted as true because it arrived.
Content amendment
If the page is wrong, the page is changed. The review date moves when that pass is real.
Transparent record
A material correction is listed in the public register when it is published. No entry is invented in advance.
What can be reported?
A report is read in the light of the evidence and the review the desk can actually do. Sending a note does not confirm the error.
Factual inaccuracies
A statement about a financial product, a company, a market or an economic development that the evidence does not support.
Provider and regulatory information
A legal entity, a permission, a product restriction or a country row that does not match the document for that account.
Fees and product terms
A fee schedule, a financing charge, an account requirement or a product term that is out of date or inaccurate.
Financial calculations
A formula, an assumption, a unit, a rounding step or a tool result that does not follow the method on the page.
Sources and attribution
A citation that no longer opens, a statement attributed to the wrong document, or a source used beyond what it establishes.
Editorial clarity
Wording or a missing condition that could lead a reader to a meaning the evidence does not support.
Report a possible error
The contact form is the reporting path. Editorial feedback or correction is the enquiry type.
The form asks for your name, your email address, the enquiry type, a subject and a message. Use the optional URL field for the page, or for one supporting document. Put a proposed correction, and any second link, in the message.
Please do not include passwords, financial account numbers or other credentials. The privacy notice on the form explains that the message is used to review and respond to the enquiry.
The official address is Contact@WiTFinanceGroup.com. The subject line on that link is “WiT Markets — Correction Report”. No reply time is promised. The form says a message was sent only after the delivery service accepts it.
How we classify content changes
The register lists a material correction once it is published. The other rows describe how the desk treats a change. They are not extra logs.
| Classification | What it means | Typical case |
|---|---|---|
| Material correction | An established factual error that changes the meaning of the page. | An incorrect fee, legal entity, product restriction, calculation, or reading of a source. |
| Clarification | A change that makes the existing evidence easier to follow. The original sentence was not established as false. | A condition added so a reader can see which account the sentence describes. |
| Substantive update | New verified information that changes the context of what was published. | A new regulatory decision, a revised fee schedule, a change in who can open an account, or a revised official figure. |
| Minor editorial edit | Spelling, formatting or wording that leaves the claim unchanged. | A typo. This is not written up as a correction and is not listed in the register. |
| Withdrawal | The publication does not keep a withdrawal or retraction register. | No article has been recorded as withdrawn. A material error is corrected on the page. |
When does a correction require a public notice?
A change is material when it would alter a reader’s reasonable understanding of the original page. There is no numerical threshold.
A substantive correction concerns one of these:
- Financial costs
- Regulatory status
- Legal entity
- Product availability
- Country eligibility
- A financial calculation
- Investment risk
- A market fact
- A comparison conclusion that a reader would rely on
A routine editorial improvement, such as spelling or formatting that leaves the claim unchanged, does not require a public correction record.
Published corrections register
Entries appear here only after a material correction is published. Reporter names and email addresses are not shown.
No published corrections recorded
The public corrections register currently contains no entries. If a material error is identified and confirmed, the appropriate correction will be documented in accordance with the editorial policy.
An empty register is not a statement that every published page is free of error.
What is not necessarily a factual correction?
Not every disagreement establishes a factual error. Financial analysis may involve interpretation, judgement or uncertainty, and readers may reasonably hold different views.
Where feedback challenges an editorial interpretation, the relevant question is whether the published analysis accurately represents the available evidence and clearly distinguishes opinion from established fact.
- A disagreement with a clearly labelled WiT View, unless that view carries a fact the source does not support.
- A different expectation about future market performance.
- A provider asking for more favourable wording without a document that shows a fact is wrong.
- A request for a personal investment recommendation.
Feedback of that kind can still lead to a clarification or a further editorial read.
Corrections involving financial providers
A provider may write about the legal entity, a permission, a fee, product availability, an account restriction, a platform feature or a comparison cell.
The correction rests on the relevant document. A commercial relationship does not decide whether the correction is accepted. No commercial relationship is recorded in the provider data. The research methodology, the editorial policy and the commercial disclosure are the related standards.
Editorial oversight and responsibility
The editorial desk reads a report. A named person is attached to a correction only when that role is stored.
Teresa Mary
Teresa Mary oversees editorial standards at WiT Markets. That remit includes the clarity of financial content, a review of factual accuracy where a review is assigned, and a consistent approach to a material concern. A correction stays tied to the source.
She is not described as the investigator of every report. No correction has been recorded, so none is attributed to her. Existing pages keep the desk byline.
These biographical details were supplied for this profile. The page does not carry a verified-qualification mark, because no membership register or employment record has been filed with it.
How corrections are dated and documented
These dates are not interchangeable. A deployment of the website does not refresh them.
| Date | What it records |
|---|---|
| Original publication date | Used where a piece stores its own date, such as a news briefing. Standing pages use the editorial review date instead of a separate publication stamp. |
| Date reported | A private detail of the message. It is not published, and the register does not show who sent the report. |
| Correction published | The date on a public register entry, once a material correction is recorded. The register is empty today. |
| Last reviewed | The editorial pass stored on the page. It moves when a real pass is recorded, including a material correction. A redesign does not move it. |
| Updated | The publication does not keep a separate updated date. A substantive change is written into the page it affects. |
What a transparent correction looks like
Fictional illustration. This is not an actual WiT Markets correction, and it is not an entry in the register.
FictionalNo real provider and no real fee schedule
Harbour Lane Markets, share dealing
- Original statement
- The illustration said the account charged £5 for each transaction.
- Evidence in the story
- A later reading of an imaginary official fee schedule for that account puts the charge at £7.
- Corrected statement
- Under the stated account conditions, the illustrative charge is £7 per transaction.
- Why it would be material
- A reader comparing costs would have used the wrong figure. The change alters the cost, so it would be a public correction if it were real.
Illustrative notice. Corrected 1 March 2026. The transaction charge for this fictional account was changed from £5 to £7 after the sample schedule was read. This notice is a teaching example.
A correction is part of the record
Trustworthy financial research is not defined by the absence of corrections, but by the quality of its evidence, the clarity of its limitations and the willingness to correct material errors when they are established.
Questions about corrections
How do I report an error on WiT Markets?
Use the contact form with Editorial feedback or correction, or email Contact@WiTFinanceGroup.com. Name the page. The form delivers the message when mail delivery is configured. Otherwise the button opens your email application, and the site does not confirm that a message was sent.
What information should I include in a correction request?
Include the page address, what you believe is wrong, and the source that shows the problem. A proposed wording can go in the message. A supporting document can use the optional URL field, or be described in the message if you have already used that field for the page. Do not send passwords, account numbers or other credentials.
What happens after I report an error?
The editorial desk reads the report against the page and the source you cite. A message is not treated as established because it arrived. If the page is wrong, the page is changed. No reply time is promised.
Does every report lead to a correction?
No. The evidence decides. A report can confirm that a cell should stay unconfirmed. It can also leave the page unchanged, or lead to a clarification that is not listed as a correction.
What is considered a material correction?
A change that would alter a reader’s understanding of a fee, an entity, a permission, a country row, a tax description, a formula, a risk, a market fact or a comparison conclusion. That change is made on the page, and it is listed in the public register when the correction is published.
What is the difference between a correction and an update?
A correction fixes an established factual error. An update adds new verified information that changes the context, such as a new official decision or a revised schedule. The publication does not keep a separate updated date. Only a published material correction is listed in the register.
Are minor wording changes recorded?
No. Spelling, formatting and wording that leave the claim unchanged are not written up as corrections and do not appear in the register.
Where can I see published corrections?
On this page, in the published corrections register. It currently has no entries. An empty register is not a statement that every page is free of error.
Can financial providers request corrections?
Yes. The same form is open to a provider. The request needs a document that shows the fact. A request for friendlier wording, without that document, does not move a cell. A commercial relationship does not decide the outcome. None is recorded in the provider data.
What happens when readers disagree with an editorial interpretation?
A disagreement with a labelled WiT View is a comment, unless the view carries a fact the source does not support. Feedback can still lead to a clarification or another editorial read. It is not, by itself, a correction.
Does WiT Markets remove incorrect articles?
A material error is corrected on the page. The publication does not keep a withdrawal register, and no article has been recorded as withdrawn.
Who oversees editorial corrections?
The editorial desk handles a report. Teresa Mary is Chief Content Editor and is responsible for editorial standards. She is not recorded as the investigator of any correction, because no correction has been recorded. A page names her as reviewer only when that review is stored.
