The current site remembers a country preference in local storage. It does not set advertising cookies, and it does not run a consent banner for cookies it does not use.
Local storage is not technically a cookie, but it is the same kind of memory: a small note on your device. The key wit-country-preference remembers whether you preferred Global, the UK, the US, Finland or Australia, and it also records a dismissal of the location hint when you choose to stay on the global site. The value is a country code or the word global. It is not an account, and it is not treated as proof of where you live or whether you may open an account. You can clear it in your browser settings, or pick another country in the header.
If a future version adds measurement or embedded media that sets cookies, this page should be updated first and, where the law requires it, a choice should be offered before those cookies are set. Essential hosting cookies, if the host adds them, are a matter for that host’s documentation.
