Every figure on this page uses the same browser journal as the trading journal. Trades are not uploaded. A cumulative result is the sum of closed trades, not a brokerage equity curve.

How the dashboard measures a journal

Win rate is the number of profitable closed trades divided by every closed trade, including break-even trades. Profit factor is the sum of the gains divided by the absolute sum of the losses. When the filter has gains and no losses, the page says there are no recorded losing trades. Observed expectancy is the average net result of the closed trades in the filter. It describes that history. Average R is the mean of net result divided by planned risk, and only for trades where that risk was entered and is above zero.

A worked book, which is not written into your journal: four closed results of 200, minus 100, 50 and minus 50, each with planned risk of 100. The net result is 100. The win rate is 50 percent. The profit factor is 1.6666666666666667. The average R is 0.25. The largest drop from the running peak, which starts at zero, is 100.

What the charts are, and what they are not

The cumulative line adds closed results in date order, starting at zero. Its drawdown is the highest running total so far minus the later total. A break-even trade is counted in the win-rate denominator and it ends a streak. Profit factor is left unstated when the filter has wins and no losses. R is omitted when planned risk was not recorded. A starting balance, if you enter one, draws a closed-trade balance. That curve does not include deposits, withdrawals or open positions.

Strategy rows show the trades you tagged with that name. A larger result from a handful of trades is a record of those trades, not a measured edge. Tags you add are notes you wrote. The calendar uses the date on the trade, which should be the closing date when you want the result on the day it was closed.

These figures describe the trades you stored. They do not predict the next trade.
