Economy and policy, without a split wire
Each section below is a briefing the desk has published. Inflation and employment, bond yields, the Korean rate decision, the Korean growth remarks and the French budget use the source named on the card. A figure is that source’s figure. It is not a live price.
Central banks
A central-bank day has more than one headline
Why the statement, the projections and the press conference can matter more than the rate decision itself.
Read briefing
The 22 October 2026 rate note reports the Bank of Korea’s decision to leave the Base Rate at 3.00 percent, using the Bank’s own release. The inflation note and the growth note use the same release and do not repeat the decision as if it were a second event. The older macro note explains how to sit through a policy day. That reading does not name a rate.
A household question about cash, a mortgage or a long contribution plan belongs with that note and with the macro research. It does not need a futures ticket, and it does not need an invented calendar of releases.
When a statistical agency or a central bank release is entered as a verified event, it will appear on the events page with its source and timezone. Until an editor enters one, that page stays empty on purpose.
